March 02, 2009

Woo. Got up at 8, only after being awoken just before 1 o’clock in the morning *so sick* Yeah, my stomach felt like it was trying to kill itself, and at some point I wasn’t sure if I felt like I was going to pass out or throw up. Neither happened, but I was in pretty bad shape til around 1:30. Not a very happy camper.

I did get to go back to sleep though, as I mentioned, and I got up at 8. 8 AM and I was pretty good to go. Got up, decided that since I had taken a late shower I wasn’t going to waste time with it, somehow my hair didn’t look too bad, just a little mussy which I wasn’t entirely opposed to as long as it saved me some time. I got everything together and was out the door just after 9.

I had to wait a surprisingly long time for the bus, around 15 minutes which is usual. Either way, I got to Plaza Fiesta with the intention of taking a Motul to school that way I would have more time to work on the Cavernas presentation. And guess who showed up? Remember my friend from awhile ago? Actually I’m not entirely sure if I mentioned him or not. We were on the same bus and then riding the same next bus home and we had a conversation which was unusual to have someone from the college take any interest so it was cool.

So yeah, he walks across the street, and I didn’t really recognize him, but he strolled right up and said hello (or it may have been good morning I don’t remember) and gave me a kiss on the cheek like we were pals. (cultural note: this is how people who know each other greet eachother) So we kinda chatted, sometimes there wasn’t much to say. I also felt a little silly because of course, while I didn’t completely lack putting myself together (like if I had bothered to take my shower I would’ve been just as nice looking as normal, lol) but I also was wearing my bottom retainer because I hadn’t worn it in some time so I figured I’d just give it the day to let my teeth reset or whatever.

Eventually, after two full motuls passing, we managed to get one. I did learn he doesn’t like cats. Too bad for him, lol. Pretty sure my loyalties remain with the Meek. Anyway, so that was kind of a neat way to start off the day, although by the time we made it to school I was starting to not feel so hot again.

As it turned out, there were no copies in the fotocopiadora, so I was out of luck if I did in fact have a presentation so I tried to be productive by starting my Migrations presentation. As it turned out I didn’t have one. It’s Wednesday (which I kind of suspected to be the case).

After class, I hiked up to 7-11 where in a lot of people were staring at me. And I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe I was just momentarily more aware of it (you know how absolutely observant I am). In any case, I got some meds from 7-11 and then walked back to the facultad where I had lunch and then had to go to the library for two reasons: 1) Diana had brownies, bus maps, and hoy en tu comunidad shirts in her office, most importantly the brownies 2) I needed those Cavernas copies for Wednesday since we don’t have school tomorrow.

Of course, getting all that done in the 15 minutes before class starting was impossible. Ariana went with me to get her brownie and shirt and map, and then she went to class before I had even managed to figure out where the book was I needed copies of. She said she’d tell our prof I’d be late. Which I was, by like half an hour (although being late here is not nearly as bit of a deal as it is in the States.) Either way I didn’t really have a choice because I needed the copies. The place would be closed by the time I got out of class.

So then I went and did Mayan Civ til 6 o’clock and took the bus(es) back home. The evening I’m taking off pretty much. Catching up on e-mails I haven’t had a chance to read. The Ellen one was hilarious, let me just say *nods*.

I’m hoping now to watch a movie we didn’t get a chance to watch while Mom was here. I hope everyone enjoys the snow that seems to have invaded up there. It was cold today, but no where near that cold lol.
Cheers! Kate <3

Enjoying the snow...ugh...not so much. I like to watch it fall ( sooo pretty),but then it is messy and cold and the dogs are a mess to let in and out and oh well, you know how it goes...it did make our back yard look really pretty.

Loved hearing from you last night. Such a wonderful surprise! You sounded great.

The snow has been pretty but, getting messy now. I'm lucky, cause I can enjoy it from the inside. Being a lady of leisure has its rewards. Ha,Ha

  4. Best thing about snow, is that we can see the tracks of all the nocturnal animals that snuck by in the night... guess you don't spot those in the SAND out there, mmmmh? Have you checked?!!!
